I had to share this! deadwoodrose posted this earlier, but here's it again for anyone who's not our mutual friend
Phantom of the Opera/Dracula erotic crossover novel
Is it wrong that I looked on Amazon to see if this was a real book? XD The whole blurb was pretty wanky, but this made me chortle out loud:
Christine wants him [Raoul] out of the way so she and the Phantom can remain safe and happy, living beneath the Opera House.
Oh yes. That's it exactly.
I can only wonder how Dracula thinks Raoul should be dealt with in the book.
And what's the deal with the random boobage in the video? O_O
Also, where have you been? This is the first time you've updated since August. :O
I know! I've been lost in RP land. I'm always on, just have no life of my own to update about. :P
I was wondering when she would start promoting her book. To each their own. This is not my cup of tea. I only wish success...
But as an author I feel books are stronger if they stick to one canon/one book. Especially if continuing a work of classic lit.
I was surprised to see the references to ALW in the video. I just had to work with my publisher to prove Leroux was public domain. ALW... is a huge gray area.
Shrugs. Like I said, I wish her luck. But hey... MISSED YOU Siren!
I hadn't heard of it until this! But I HAVE been out of the loop lately, obviously.
As my friend put it: Erik and Dracula team up to help each other get laid.
I don't think what this book was exactly going for was "strength".... Though I'm a Gothic novel nut, so two rolled into one? hmmmm... Of course, erotica isn't my cup of tea...
Congrats on your contract, btw! I may not be around, but I check in now and then ;)
I KEEP TRYING TO POST AND LJ and things get WIGGY... Arggg. Sorry for the deletions. What I was TRYING to say....
She was on my f-list for a bit, but I felt I had to trim down. I kept those I felt were truly serious about writing, since the things I post on my LJ are so sensitive (being a professional writer). She doesn't do much marketing. It takes a great deal of time and effort to write professionally and market yourself as such. Not everyone has that time and not every publisher has that ability.
I have read some of her short stories, and like you, it was not my cup of tea. Certainly those who like dracula and phantom might be interested in the crossover. I think she is more a dracula fan than anything from what I recall.
Thanks SO MUCH for the CONGRATS! I can't beleive it. I have busted my arse to land a contract. I don't have a release date yet, but will tell my LJ when I do. I meet my editor soon. It is all very exciting because this Leroux book will open doors to get my other historical recognized by Kensington. So far I am contracted for the first in the Madrigal series, with the publisher's right to the second and third book.
VIVA LEROUX. Hopefully folks will like it. It is a different spin. I still have to tell Jerry Hogle (Undergrounds of Phantom) that I landed a publisher. He is going to be tickled!
Methinks Bach would take issue with his music being used thus. YIKES.
BOOBS + VAMPIRE PHANTOM + MASKS THAT CRY BLOOD = WOW
Very cool icon. I have not seen that lobby card!
That's my cellphone ringtone too. Now every time my phone rings, I'm going to think of this.
Did you get that email I sent you through e-bay last week with the link to the Paul Frank Phantom sticker?? The monkey was dressed in the ALW suit!
Siren, I have that masked monkey on a t-shirt! The minute I saw it, I yoinked it up and claimed it as my very own. MOO HA HA.
I have missed you. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?!?!
HI! HI! HI! HI! HI! HI! *said like a very small, very annoying child*
hiiiiiiii! Miss uuuuuuuuu!! VC RP has consumed my life :P

It's me. Chat. You know. BAH.
ha! I was wondering! I was like O_o for about 12 seconds.
It is NOT a parody! It's an actual book you can buy and drool on!
And yes! We should! I miss you!! <3!!
Let's make merry in the City soon! I'd love to come in and visit-- if you know of some days you have off, shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we could find a good day to convene!
I miss you too! It'd be so lovely to catch up!
Hello :) I feel awkward for leaving you a message on one of your public posts, but my e-mail has been acting strange, so I wasn't sure if you'd end up getting the one I sent you. I just wanted to say that I am a big fan of your fictional stories based on the "phantom of the opera". I found you through livejournal actually, and I was so estatic to find somebody else who loves the dark, more gothic aspects of the story. I've always enjoyed Gaston Leroux's Erik and Christine over any other versions. I use to RP a lot with them, but I couldn't find anybody who enjoyed that as well :S which is why I was never completed inspire to concoct my own fanfiction account, or anything like the sort. I'm so glad you did though!
So yes, I just wanted to say that :) thank you for so many wonderful stories.
